BALER, Aurora – Two members and one supporter of the Communist Party of the Philippine New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) will be validated here on Friday after handing them over to government forces.

Lt. Col. Reandrew P. Rubio, commander of the 91st Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army “Sinagtala”, said the development of the government forces’ intelligence services and the increased operation had led to the transfer of a certain pseudonym Marvin / Rexon, a former squad leader of Squad Dos, Regional Sentro de Gabridad (RSDG), Quirino-Nueva Vizcaya Guerrilla Field Committee (KLG Q-NV), Cagayan Valley Regional Committee of Isabela Province (KOMPROB ISABELA, KR-CV).

Another capitulator is identified only as an alias Jun, a former member of the Sangay sa Yunit Propaganda (SYP) of the Central Front, KR-CV in Barangay Calabuanan, Rubio said in an interview.

Meanwhile, a former chairman of the Aurora Justice and Peace Action Group (JPAG) aka Ed also gave in to Alpha Company employees, 91st IB, led by 1st Lt. Jevie J. Sagragao, along with Police Executive Master Sgt. Manuel Roldan P. Gonzales of Dingalan City Police Station and Mayor Shierwin H. Taay.

In accordance with the municipal task force to end the communist armed conflict (MTF-ELCAC), Taay Eds facilitated the withdrawal of support for the CPP-NPA.

Rubio said the number of surrenders continues to grow after realizing that they fought for no reason and only upset their families and communities.

“We will facilitate their Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) support and other livelihood support for national government agencies and local government units, while facilitating their return to mainstream society,” he said.

He described this achievement as “remarkable” as it clearly shows the continued weakening of the terrorist group due to the loss of support from the communities.

“Your handover to the government and the withdrawal of support from the terrorist group will save people from harm and hostile activity by the CPP-NPA-NDF,” said Rubio.

The CPP-NPA is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Philippines. (PNA)
