VICTORIA JONES / POOL / AFP via Getty ImagesPrince Harry has flown to California – he missed the Queen’s first birthday as a widow – and there is mounting evidence that his visit to the UK reduced “strained” relationships with his father and brother not much improved despite some positive results Harry arrived at LAX airport Tuesday afternoon and returned to his home in Montecito at 4 p.m. local time, reports dailymail.com. He is said to have flown from London Heathrow to Los Angeles on an American Airlines flight. A chauffeured MPV left the private terminal in LAX and arrived at her Montecito mansion. Hopes faded Wednesday, however, that a brief, carefully choreographed conversation between Harry and William as they walked out of their grandfather’s funeral on Saturday would usher in a new era, The Times reported that Harry’s relationship with his father and brother remained “strained.” “and that any exchange between them at the funeral did little to improve the situation. Sources told the Times it was “unthinkable” After the funeral, there was serious discussion of the serious matters raised by Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry told Oprah that his brother and father were “trapped” in the monarchy and furiously criticized his father’s lack of understanding for his and Meghan’s misfortunes. The couple also accused an unnamed family member of conducting racist research into the likely skin color of children Meghan and Harry may have had. Harry returned home before his grandmother turned 95 on Wednesday, just days after her 77-year-old husband’s funeral, as the Queen was forced to sit alone at the funeral due to strict UK coronavirus regulations unlikely to see her family on her birthday. She’ll likely spend the day at Windsor Castle with just a small bubble of staff. Current English coronavirus rules prohibit families from gathering inside. However, gatherings outdoors or in gardens are permitted. Harry’s quick return to the US comes after several days of mixed reports on the progress of attempts at reconciliation with his father and brother. Despite reports that Harry, William, and Charles were talking for hours after the funeral, much seems to remain unsolved. Conflicting reports have surfaced about this alleged conversation. The Mail claimed that Charles and William insisted on meeting Harry so that no one could say anything later to be misinterpreted, and that the meeting took place in the grounds of Windsor Castle. The Sun said the meeting was at Harry’s home, Frogmore Cottage, and that Kate was present. The palace refused to comment for fear of the delicate situation catching fire. There is no doubt that after the funeral on Saturday, William and Harry walked back to Windsor Castle together from St. George’s Chapel. Harry’s brief visit to the UK for the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral was his first trip to the UK in a year. The brothers hadn’t seen each other in person since a chilly encounter on Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey prior to the coronavirus pandemic outbreak. After leaving the funeral, Harry first spoke to Kate Middleton, who diplomatically seemed to arrange the situation so that the brothers went together. Just a few weeks earlier, Harry’s wife, Kate, had accused Kate of allowing the uncorrected spread of lies about who made whom cry in the run-up to Meghan’s wedding. Meghan, who is expecting a little girl this summer, did not travel on the doctor’s orders, but sent a handwritten note and a wreath. The trip marked the first time Harry had seen his family since explosive allegations of royal racism during an interview with Oprah last month and the allegation that his father and brother were “trapped in the system.” William is known to be deeply hurt by what Harry said, and Charles was upset that Harry said he was disappointed by his father and Harry’s accusation of having cut Harry was laid off financially and refused to take his calls. Harry will now begin another 10-day quarantine as recommended by CDC for travelers to the United States. The Queen issued a statement on Wednesday in which she said: “On the occasion of my 95th birthday, I have today received many messages with good wishes that I really appreciate. from those within the Uni ted Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world. “My family and I would like to thank you all for the support and kindness we have received over the past few days. We were deeply touched and continue to be reminded that Philip had such extraordinary effects on countless people throughout his life. “Read more at The Daily Beast.
