5 surrendered rebels in Aurora obtain money and meals assist

BALER, Aurora – The Central Luzon Police Regional Bureau (PRO-3) has provided cash and food aid to five former rebels who recently surrendered in that province.

During the regional command conference here on Wednesday, Col. Raul Siriban, provincial director of the Aurora Police Provincial Office, presented the five capitulants to PRO-3 regional director, Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon.

Siriban said the five former rebels, whose identities were not mentioned for security reasons, surrendered on Jan. 2-8.

He said four of them are former members of the Milisyang Bayan Northern Platoon and the other is a former squad leader of the Segunda North Platoon, which operates in that province.

Siriban said he was grateful for the former rebels’ decision to return to law.

“We welcome you and assure you that we will continue to help you. We will work closely with the other government agencies, ”said Siriban.

For his part, De Leon said the capitulators were eligible for the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

Meanwhile, the PRO-3 handed over several firearms, ammunition, magazines and other accessories to the Aurora Police Provincial Office to ensure more efficient and effective service delivery by enhancing lawyers’s firepower, mobility and tactical skills.

In a separate activity, the PRO-3 distributed help here in Barangay Maria Aurora.

De Leon personally managed the distribution of aid from goods and hygiene kits, supported by Maria Aurora’s mayor Amado Geneta.

The beneficiaries were around 200 needy residents from the cities of Baler, San Luis, Dipaculao and Maria Aurora. (PNA)
