Arrest in the case of an attack on the Aurora gas station with a request to wear a mask

AURORA, Colorado (KDVR) – A man is currently in custody after Aurora police accused him of assaulting a gas station worker after being told to wear a face covering when entering the store in January.

Ion Buzdugan was taken into custody in Florida on March 9th. He is currently in Alachua County Jail and is charged with second degree assault on the January incident when he returns to Colorado.

The confrontation took place on January 4th at the Sinclair Station at the intersection of East Sixth Avenue and Billings Street. Police say the suspect assaulted an employee, resulting in serious facial injuries.

The case is being prosecuted by the 18th judicial district.
