The family of the teacher, who succumbed to a snakebite, expressed dismay at the lack of venom antiserum in Aurora Province. Over the weekend, 46-year-old teacher Rizza Laureano, who lives in Barangay San Jose, was reportedly bitten by a poisonous Filipino cobra in her classroom at Bacong Elementary School. She was taken to the hospital by other teachers, but died from lack of antidotes. The victim’s relatives were angry and urged the provincial government to ensure that the state hospitals are provided with antidotes.
