Aurora officer fired after reportedly beating a person who resisted arrest

AURORA, Colorado (AP) – A Denver suburban police officer was fired for repeatedly using a taser and beating a man who resisted arrest.

Aurora Police on Thursday announced officer Robert Rosen’s resignation for violating several department policies, including not turning on his body camera and trying not to de-escalate the situation in a supermarket on Aug. 10, 2020. Police say Rosen was called into the store to help another officer because a man suspected of intruding passively resisted the arrest by holding his arms under him while lying on the floor.

Rosen could not be found for a comment.
