Five weekend shootings in Aurora in less than 30 hours – The Denver Post

Five separate shootings took place in Aurora over one violent weekend.

The incidents all occurred within 27 hours. They took place between a few blocks north of Colfax Avenue and Parker Road to the south, Interstate 225 to the east and Havana Street to the west.

Aurora Police do not believe the shootings are linked. No person died from their injuries in any of the shootings.

Police first reported a shooting on the 1300 block of North Troy Street around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, in which a man was seriously injured. Initially, no suspect was arrested.

About two hours later there was a shooting at the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Havana Street. A man was hit and no information about a suspect was immediately available.

Later on Saturday night, the security guard working at the Challengers Sports Bar on East Iliff Ave. 12161 works, injured when a patron shot the worker.

Before 9 a.m. Sunday, a person was shot dead in a 7-Eleven on Peoria Street and 19th Avenue.

A child was shot multiple times on the 12000 block of East Kansas Drive around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The young person was transported with serious injuries. Aurora police later said the child was an 11-year-old boy who is expected to make a full recovery. They ask for help in identifying two suspects and urge the public to call 720-913-STOP if they know anything.

UPDATE: Last night’s 11 year old victim certainly had guardian angels watching over him. Although he was shot multiple times, he was supposed to make a full recovery.
