Man arrested in Georgia in reference to Aurora’s 2020 homicide

AURORA, Colorado – Aurora police on Tuesday announced a second arrest in a July 2020 murder.

Dontavious Hetzel, 28, was arrested in Georgia on suspicion of involvement in a first degree murder for his alleged role in the murder of a 31-year-old man in Aurora last year.

Hetzel remains in a Georgia prison awaiting extradition to Colorado. It is the second arrest in the case after the unidentified victim was found shot dead in the area of ​​East Colfax Avenue and North Beeler Street around 1:45 a.m. on July 5, 2020.

Master Titus Uriah Martin, 20, was arrested last September on a first-degree murder warrant related to the shooter’s death. According to police, two days after the July 5 murder, he is a suspect in a separate nearby shooting.

Crystal Black, 36, and Moses John Hamm, 44, were killed in a double shot on the 1500 block on Beeler Street on July 7, according to the Adams County coroner office.
