Man killed after exiting Maverick gas station; Aurora Homicide Squad looking for suspects

AURORA, Colorado (KDVR) – The Aurora Police Department is seeking help from the public to find the person responsible for the shooting and killing of a man earlier this month.

Police said the shooting took place on April 4 at around 7:15 p.m. on East 35th Avenue and Helena Street.

When the police arrived on site, they found a man who had been shot. The victim was taken to the hospital. On April 7th, the man was pronounced brain dead.

The Adams County Corona officially ruled the man’s death as murder on April 12.

Aurora Police Department Homicide detectives discovered that the incident and shooting occurred after the victim exited the Maverik gas station on North Chambers Road and East 38th Avenue. Detectives also identified three vehicles that may have been involved in this murder.

According to APD, these vehicles are probably a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, a Volkswagen sedan and a BMW 7 Series.

APD said the victim’s identity would be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office after positive identification was made and his closest relative was notified.
