Finding a makeup bag that doubles as a designer clutch may not be a priority when organizing your products. Whether you’re wearing a minimalist five-step routine or any red lipstick known to mankind, investing in a chic and functional makeup bag will instantly improve your life. Beauty giant Sephora has just teamed up with fashion brand Brother Vellies, designed and founded by Aurora James, to launch a limited edition collection of makeup bags for the world to see.

The collection includes three designs, some of which are inspired by the artisanal style of Brother Vellies and worldly designs such as Doodle Bag: a saddle bag illustrated with Brother Vellies’ signature doodle graphic design on the brand’s popular cowboy boot. Also included in the collection is a 3-in-1 square PVC bag with two small pouches, one imitation alligator and one with a cheetah print. The best part? The bags won’t break the bank with any bag under $ 50.

“Over two years in the making, we’re excited to finally share these bags with the world,” says James. “We can’t see ourselves working with a brand other than Sephora on this collaboration.”

The partnership between Sephora and Brother Vellies goes beyond the designer bag collection. The beauty retailer took on the 15 percent promise founded and developed by the Brother Vellies designer, providing at least 15 percent of the shelf space for black-owned brands.

“We’re so proud of their efforts to bring more variety to your shelves,” adds James. “This, along with Brother Vellies’ goal of keeping artisanal design practices and techniques alive, is the kind of energy we continue to support.”

James has also been signed as a brand partner for Sephora’s new cohort, the 2021 Accelerate program, which includes only BIPOC brands.

“We have long admired both the Brother Vellies brand and everything Aurora has done to promote diversity and inclusion in retail and beyond,” said Brooke Banwart, vice president and general manager of Sephora Collection North America. “With the start of this collaboration, we are pleased to make Brother Vellies accessories available to all Sephora buyers and continue to deliver on our promise of high quality goods at an affordable price.”

The story goes on

The limited edition Sephora x Brother Vellies collection costs between $ 30 and $ 48 and will be available from Sephora and starting February 12. BUSINESS
